The Verdict

Two strong Android flagships, but they serve very different needs. Samsung's Galaxy S25 is compact and refined, at 162g with a 6.2-inch 2600-nit AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and tight One UI 7 software integration. Its camera system is capable but conventional: 50MP main, 10MP 3x telephoto, 12MP ultrawide. Charging is a notable weak point at just 25W wired and 15W wireless. Xiaomi's 15 Ultra is a different beast entirely. That 1-inch main sensor, 200MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom, and 50MP ultrawide put its camera hardware in a class that very few phones touch. Add 90W wired and 50W wireless charging feeding a massive 5810mAh battery, a sharper 3200x1440 display hitting 3200 nits, and 16GB RAM, and the spec gap is hard to ignore. The trade-offs are real though: 229g is noticeably heavy, the 9.17mm body is thick, and HyperOS 2's long-term software support lags behind Samsung's seven-year update commitment. For most buyers, the S25 offers a more balanced, pocketable daily driver at $200 less. For photography enthusiasts or power users who want the absolute best camera hardware available, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra justifies its premium.
